Fallon Pickleball Club Etiquette - 2/3/2025

Our etiquette suggestions are for all players' safety and cooperation and consideration.

KEY

  • If you open the gym, please put the key in the zippered pocket inside the back of the ball bag.

  •  If you are one of the last players in the gym, make sure one person puts all basketball hoops down, raises the curtain, turns lights off, locks all gym doors and places the key back in the outside lock box after leaving the gym.

BALLS

  • DO NOT HIT A DEAD BALL! Once the ball is dead - the shot that ends the play - do not hit the ball again. Players “let down their guard” after the ball is dead.

  • If a ball comes in your court, stop play and reach down and pick up the ball. Make eye contact with a player from where the ball came from and toss the ball to that player.

  • Do not bat the ball along the floor to the other court. That is a HUGE safety issue.

COURT ROTATION

  • When sliding over to another court or leaving a court after your game is completed, please take the ball with you.

  • Do not leave the ball on the court.

CROSSING BEHIND, BESIDE OR THROUGH A COURT

  • Please wait for a pause in play before crossing through the court.

  • When waiting on the bleachers, please make sure you are out of the way of play on the adjacent court.

LINE CALLS

  • Players are responsible for making the line calls on their side of the net. If neither player sees the ball clearly, they may ask for help from the opposing players. If in doubt, the ball should be called in. Do not replay the point.

LINE TAPE

  •   Please make sure that any line tape is removed by the end of play for the day.

PLAYER ROTATION

  • Under normal play the losing team should go off and allow waiting players to come on. During times when there are many waiting players it may be necessary to institute 4 on/4 off. In all cases if you have been in for two or more consecutive games you should go off to allow waiting players to come on.
